Volunteer on the farm

As a Community Supported Agriculture scheme, we rely on our amazing and committed volunteers to help us grow, harvest and pack your vegetable bags each week. There are a number of ways you can get involved, whether you’re a member or not…

  1. Regular Tuesday volunteering

Each Tuesday a merry band of helpers descend on Teign Greens to help with picking our fresh organic vegetables as well as other important jobs like sowing seeds, planting and weeding. We start at 9am and go through until about 4pm - although you’re welcome to drop in for an hours or 2 if you prefer. In the summer, we provide everyone with a wholesome vegetarian lunch using our produce, which we sit and eat together in our outdoor kitchen with the team from On The Hill. There’s always plenty of tea and coffee and cake too! For more details, or to sign up , please fill out this form, or email us to ask any questions.

  2. Monthly Saturday volunteer days

Our monthly volunteer mornings often involve a bigger team focusing on a really useful task or two, like building compost heap, planting potatoes or harvesting squash. They usually take place on the Second Saturday of the Month between 9.30am and 1pm. Saturdays are family friendly and there’s no experience necessary - and you’re always likely to learn something about gardening, nature and sustainable farming! You’re welcome to join for the whole morning, or just drop in for an hour or so to have a look around. Holly usually makes her famous vegan flapjacks for tea break too! Keep tuned to our newsletter or social media for upcoming Saturday dates - or drop us a line.

  3. Residential volunteering (Wwoofing)

During the summer months we welcome one or two people at a time to come and get stuck in with us on the farm. We can provide you with a beautiful pitch for your tent or live-in van, toilets and showers plus organic wholefoods and as much of our vegetables as you can eat! We also occasionally have space in our gorgeous vintage caravans. We ask people to come for a minimum of two weeks. Residential volunteers will join the core team of growers and trainees during the week and you’re sure to learn heaps about regenerative veg growing and the art of running a Community Supported Agriculture scheme - if that’s your thing! Please email Holly if you’d be interested in residential volunteering or find our more on our Wwoof UK page.

  4. Corporate volunteering

We can’t think of any better team building activity than sowing seeds together, weeding or digging compost on our picture postcard beautiful land! We can cater for groups of up to 25 people, and can provide lunches and teas and coffees if needed. And as a small scale organisation, your help really has a huge impact for us. We can work with you to choose timings, activities that will best suit your team. Get in touch with Holly to discuss more.

Fine out more by sending us an email.
